1.    Portable Extinguishers

• Check the extinguishing medium and applied pressure and refill when needed. • Check the mechanical functions of all components.
• Check if the extinguishers are located in designated place.
• Check the handle and its function.
• Check the hose condition.
• Check the weight of the extinguisher

2.    Fire Pumps.

• Check the fire pump system visually to assure that device appears to be in normal and operational condition.
• Record the pressure on fire pump gauges at Discharge line and suction line.
• Check for automatic indication of controller lights.
• Check all the valves for their respective open/close position.
• Simulate and operate the pump for 10 minutes and check the followings:
a)    Record pressures at Discharge line and Suction line
b)    Confirm the operation of pressure switch.
c)    Observe any excessive vibration or abnormal noise.
d)    Inspect the pump bearing & casing for over heating.
• Check fuel tank level.• Changing the diesel pump oil annually.

3.    Fire Suppression Systems.

Inspect the system for any physical damages.

• Check the cylinders gauges are showing normal pressure and adequate gas quan¬tity.
• Verify the system nozzles are in place.
• Testing the cross zoning signal from smoke detectors.
• Check the function of manual release push button.
• Cleaning the smoke detectors every visit.
• Check the function of the solenoid valve without discharge the gas. • Check fist stage operation.
• Check second stage operation.
• Inspect the system pipes and fittings for any damages and if they are prop erly aligned.
• Testing the system by actuating false alarm for the fire extinguishing panel in order to check the two stages function without discharging the gas.

4.    Automatic Sprinkler System

• Inspect pipe hangers if it is damaged, loose or missing.
• Inspect pipes and fittings to ensure it is free of leaks, not painted, not rusty, no damages and all are properly aligned.
• Check for any obstruction to spray nozzles.
• Check if spare sprinklers and respective zone pipe wrench is available.
• Check all Zone Control Valves by checking the followings:
a)    Condition of Butterfly Valve.
b)    Function of Water Flow Detector (Flow Switch) c)Condition of Test and Drain Valve
• Check and record main supply water pressure.
• Make sure pressure gauges are in good condition and the reading within the range.
• Testing the response for Fire Alarm system, incase of operating the Flow Switch valves.

5. Pre - Action I Deluge Systems


• Check & Record the main supply pressure
• Check and record the pressure of air in the system.
• Check & record the pressure on the push rod chamber.
• Inspect all control valves to verify that all are at proper position and all are supervised.
• Check all valves for any leakage.
• Inspect the deluge valve to verify the following:
a)    The valve is free of physical damages.
b)    The valve is not leaking.
c)    The trim valves are at proper position.
• Ensure system pressure is within the normal range.
• Inspect the system pipes and fittings for any damages and if they are properly aligned.
• Inspect hangers' conditions if it is rusty, loose damaged or missing.
• Inspect all system alarms for proper operation and free from physical damages.

6. Pre - Action I Deluge Systems

• Check & Record the main supply pressure
• Check and record the pressure of air in the system.
• Check & record the pressure on the push rod chamber.
• Inspect all control valves to verify that all are at proper position and all are supervised.
• Check all valves for any leakage.
• Inspect the deluge valve to verify the following:
a)    The valve is free of physical damages.
b)    The valve is not leaking.
c)    The trim valves are at proper position.
• Ensure system pressure is within the normal range.
• Inspect the system pipes and fittings for any damages and if they are properly aligned.
• Inspect hangers' conditions if it is rusty, loose damaged or missing.
• Inspect all system alarms for proper operation and free from physical damages.
